Funa privacy policy
Effective 22 September 2026. Funa is operated by Alterity Enterprises LTD, Kamu Kamu Plaza, Kampala, Uganda, 00000. Contact: elvis@alteritytech.com.
Information we handle
We handle account names, usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, business addresses and account identifiers. Businesses may enter customer and supplier details, sales, purchases, inventory, payments, attendance and other business records. If you choose to upload profile photos, product images or documents, we store those uploads. We also process security and service logs needed to operate and protect the service.
How information is used and shared
We use this information to provide account access, business tools, synchronization, support, billing and security. Business administrators control team roles and access to shared records. Service providers supporting hosting, communications and payments process information to deliver those services. Payment providers handle payment details through Funa’s website; the mobile app does not collect subscription payments. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users. We do not sell personal information or use the mobile app for advertising tracking.
Device permissions
Camera access supports barcode scanning and photos you choose to upload. Photo access supports selected uploads. Bluetooth access connects supported receipt printers. Notifications, when allowed, provide service and business alerts. You can manage permissions in device settings. The app stores working business data locally for offline use and synchronizes it with your business account.
Retention and deletion
We retain data while needed to provide the service, maintain shared business records, meet legal or accounting obligations and prevent fraud. You may request correction, access or deletion by contacting support. Request account deletion in the app’s account settings or through our account-deletion form, including when access has expired.
We verify ownership before deletion and complete verified requests within 30 days, then send confirmation. Personal account data and uploads no longer needed are deleted; shared business records or legally required records may be retained. We will explain retained categories and reasons to the requester. Business owners may need to arrange closure or ownership transfer. Backup copies expire through the backup retention cycle. Remove local app data from your devices after deletion; exported files and printed receipts are outside the app’s control.
Security and your choices
We use access controls and protected connections to help safeguard data. No system is completely secure. Keep your credentials private and review staff access. Service providers may process data outside your country. Contact us with privacy questions or concerns; you may also raise concerns with your applicable data-protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and provide notice when required.
